Text Box: 2000--We met as freshmen at college.
Text Box: 2003--We married and started a family
Text Box: 2006--We finished college.
Text Box: 2006--Our oldest son was born.
Text Box: 2007--We moved overseas.
Text Box: 2007--Our second son was born overseas.
Text Box: 2010--We finished language school.

 

Some of the highlights...

2000-

  • We both head to college in Missouri.  We enroll and find out that college is a lot harder than high school.
  • We meet over a lunch for college age students at church.
  • We spend lots of time together working with a local youth group.
  • A friendship begins to blossom but then ends somewhat abruptly.

2001-

  • At the first of the year,  we remain co-volunteers at the youth group, but otherwise we do not really spend any time together.
  • Andrew goes to Ukraine on a summer trip.
  • Jennifer, an MK, stays in Missouri during the summer to acclimate to the U.S. culture.
  • The fall starts and our friendship is renewed, but not just friends--friends with a purpose.

2002-

  • We continue our relationship as friends with a purpose.
  • The relationship moves into the realm of courtship or dating as some would put it.
  • We grow closer together spending time studying, talking, exercising, and eating cafe food together.
  • The summer tests our relationship as Andrew goes to California on an inner-city internship. 
    Jennifer goes to Spain on a short term trip.  We spend the whole summer about 9 time zones apart.
  • The fall reunites us back in Missouri.
  • That Christmas Andrew goes back with Jennifer to Ecuador.

2003-

  • The beginning of the year starts of with a bang--burning viejos, blowing up firecrackers,
    and getting to know Jennifer's family and home.
  • Andrew proposes to Jennifer and receives a good response.  YES!
  • We marry in the summer, trying to fit everyone's schedule as best as possible. 
    The 5th of July proved to be a wonderfully hot and memorable day.
  • We finish up the year in school as a married couple.

2004-

  • Life takes on a new perspective as a married couple.
  • We get more involved together in a local body helping out with the children, drama,
    and wherever else we can.
  • The year seems to fly by as we enjoy getting to know one another better.
  • Jennifer finishes up her studies at school in December.

2005-

  • Jennifer begins working full time as a translation clerk moving up to assistant, by the time
    she quits, at a multi-national F-500 company.
  • Andrew continues his studies at school finishing up in December.
  • Jennifer walks in May receiving an undergraduate diploma.
  • We find out Jennifer is pregnant with our first child.
  • Ecuador finds us visiting again during the winter holidays, though it is always hot
    in Ecuador even in the cold winter holidays.

2006-

  • Our son Michael John is born changing life as we know it.
  • We begin to adjust to the new addition to the family joyfully.
  • Andrew walks in May receiving his undergraduate diploma.
  • We continue to stay involved as we can in our local body and raise a child.

2007-

  • We prepare to move overseas.
  • We prepare for a new child in November.
  • Michael John turns one year old.
  • We arrive in country and start learning language.
  • Nathanael enters the world in a big way.

2008-

  • We travel back to the States to get paperwork in order for our growing family.
  • We return to our home and continue learning language.
  • Jennifer teaches English at a local school.
  • Our two boys continue to grow.

2009-

  • We experience the first fun child-hood disease while on a trip.
  • We continue to learn language and culture.
  • We visit another country while taking care of paper work.
  • We pack up in hopes of moving to a different city.

2010-

  • We return to the States for some time with supporters.
  • We travel to Ecuador for some time with family and learning.
  • We return to our place of work.
  • We get settled and begin language classes and living life.

2011-

  • We spend a whole year in our new city.
  • We teach English while building relationships with our students.
  • We enjoy the outdoors in our area taking backpacking trips with others.
  • We spread the Word with those that listen.

2012-

  • ... and on it goes ...
